Avant Equipment NZ (formerly Glenbrook Machinery) has been the exclusive importer and distributor for Avant loaders since 2004. With 120 machines sold each week, Avant loaders are in every continent of the world, and stretch across every region throughout New Zealand. Our loaders are used in a wide range of industries which include arborists, nurseries, landscapers and drainlayers.

With warehouses in Auckland and Christchurch, a nationwide rental fleet and service agents, plus a large spare parts holding, you are guaranteed industry-best after sales support and zero unscheduled machine downtime.

Since 1991, Avant Tecno has manufactured more than 45,000 loaders at their manufacturing plant in Ylöjärvi, Finland. The company has offices in the US, UK, Germany and Brazil, along with import partners in over 55 countries.

Avant loaders are manufactured in a modern, highly automated production plant in Ylöjärvi, Finland, ensuring precision and consistency in every unit. Our advanced facility leverages cutting-edge technology to maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

HISTORY

The beginning

The development of Avant Loaders began 30 years ago with the creation of the first piece of equipment for one of the toughest jobs on the farm – silage distribution. The Avant group already had 10+ years' experience in developing agricultural machinery.

The first Avant Loader

From here the first Avant was born – a skid steer loader. Equipped with an 11-horsepower gasoline engine, it was able to distribute feed to 50-80 cows in 10-15 minutes, twice a day, 365 days a year. A task which was previously done with a wheelbarrow and shovel.

Machine sales increased

Our first advertising slogan "Change your most unpleasant task to the most enjoyable!" spoke to the farmers and we started to make sales. In the first year, we sold 80 machines alone which was a lot back then!

Expansion in the 1990s

In the 1990s we started to focus more on product development with the creation of diesel-motor versions and various new attachments. We also started exporting to Germany and established a sales company there.

The first articulated Avant

The first articulated Avant was presented in 1995. The new model quickly found its way into new customer segments, such as landscaping and horse stables. We also started exporting to ten countries.

Investments in the 2000s

In the 2000s we invested in product development and launched the 200-series for private-use customers. We also overhauled the look of our machines and moved to the green our equipment is now recognised for.

New Avant 635 model released

In 2006, the Avant 635 was released – the first of a new generation design with upgraded ergonomics, improved visibility, and greater lifting capacity. The first of the Avant models we still know and love today.

The first electric machine

In 2015, the Avant e-series is released – the first electric machine in the Avant line up. Avant’s spirit of innovation continues as we start production of the e5 and e6 loaders.

Avant celebrates 30 years

In 2021, Avant Tecno celebrates 30 years. Over this time, 45,000 loaders have been produced and exported to over 55 countries globally. Quite an achievement!

20 years in New Zealand

In 2024, Glenbrook Machinery and the Pinker family celebrate 20 years as the New Zealand importer and distributor for Avant Loaders. A journey of collaboration and innovation as Avant becomes a household name in New Zealand.

An essential part of Avant Tecno’s strategy has always been manufacturing – making the loaders in our own factory from start to finish. With the development of a customer-orientated and automated manufacturing infrastructure, we ensure a high level of quality, and reliability of deliveries.

A team of almost 200 committed and skilled personnel keep our factory running smoothly. Broadminded future thinking also ensures our factory team are at the forefront of innovation. The continuous improvement of our operation and the high-quality use of increased automation pave the way for the future.
