Emission-free electric loaders

Our E series loaders are comparable to the 500 series, but without the emissions or maintenance requirements. By combining these specifications with an OptiTemp® lithium-ion battery, the E series is a silent, emission-free, and highly efficient alternative.

The Avant e513 and e527 are identical in dimensions, differing only in the capacity and weight of the lithium-ion batteries. The e513 battery has a capacity of 13 kWh, making it a suitable choice for intermittent use.

The Avant e527 has a higher capacity of 27 kWh, making it ideal for more demanding applications such as construction and demolition. Depending on the conditions, the operating time in medium-duty loading work is up to 6 hours. With a fully charged Avant e527, you can work all day uninterrupted.

A full day’s work on one charge

The E series is equipped with Avant OptiTemp® battery packs, which are specially designed and manufactured for our loaders. These patented Finnish lithium-ion batteries have unbeatable energy density and thermal management, ensuring the battery temperature is optimised at all times.

Before use, the battery will be automatically preheated whilst on the charger to reach an optimal temperature. This means your battery will work effectively in any condition, even in extreme frosts. For consistent heat throughout the battery, our OptiTemp Fluid also uses immersion cooling technology to prevent individual cells from overheating.

To provide multi-layered protection and keep your batteries safe, we’ve also packaged the OptiTemp system using a robust bonding technology.

Fast charging

The E series comes with a 3kW battery charger as standard but we also offer optional fast chargers — 400V/16A or 400V/32A. While charging times vary depending on the prevailing conditions, you can recharge your E series loader in less than 1.5 hours.

Mounted on a stand and with forklift brackets, lifting lugs, and a rear quick-attach bracket, the rapid charger is easy to move around as required. This combination of thoughtful design and practicality ensures that charging equipment can be easily accessed and positioned to support seamless operations, even on the most demanding work sites.

Low maintenance and cost-effective

Compared to a diesel loader, our E series offers a significantly more cost-effective and efficient solution for your operational needs. The absence of engine oil, coolant, and engine filters eliminates many of the regular maintenance tasks associated with diesel-powered machinery. This means that the E series only needs occasional cleaning and basic upkeep, dramatically reducing the time and money spent on routine services.

The financial benefits of operating an E series loader are substantial. We guarantee noticeable savings with service costs that are 50% lower than those for a comparable diesel model. These savings accumulate over time, contributing to a lower total cost of ownership, making the E series an economically savvy choice for long-term operations.

4x4 drive

All Avant loaders are equipped with four-wheel drive so you can operate safely in any conditions. Powered by a hydrostatic drive system and hydraulic drive motors on each wheel, these machines are highly efficient and dependable.

With the same ideology as our standard loaders, the E series can handle most terrains. These electric loaders are also compatible with a wide range of Avant attachments.

FAQS

How does Avant compare to a skid steer?

Avant loaders and skid steer loaders are both compact loaders, but they have several differences, including:

  1. Size: Avant loaders are generally narrower and lighter than skid steer loaders.
  2. Manoeuvrability: Avant loaders have articulated steering, which is more responsive and causes much less damage to soft surfaces. Skid steers skid, which can tear up soft surfaces. If you need to turn on the spot, a skid steer will be better as it can pivot on a dime. Because an Avant is articulated it has a larger turning circle, but its unique drive system causes minimal damage to the ground surface.
  3. Operating costs: Avant loaders have lower fuel consumption and tyre wear than skid steers.
  4. Visibility: Avant loaders have 360 degree operator visibility and side entry for easier access to the cab.
  5. Lifting height: Avant loaders have a telescopic boom that provides increased lifting height and reach compared to a skid steer.
  6. Ground damage: Avant loaders cause minimal ground damage and don't require ground protection mats.

How does Avant compare to a tractor?

Avant loaders are a versatile alternative to compact tractors, with several advantages over tractors, including:

  1. Manoeuvrability: Avant loaders are more nimble and can easily navigate tight spaces. They articulate in the middle, making them easier to manoeuvre than tractors.
  2. Attachments: Avant loaders have a variety of attachments that are easy to attach and remove. There are over 150 different attachments to choose from.
  3. Ease of operation: Avant loaders have one pedal for forwards and one pedal for backwards, making them easy to operate.
  4. Compactness: Avant loaders are compact and narrow, so they can fit through tight spaces. They can be legally transported on a standard plant trailer.
  5. Telescopic boom: Avant loaders have a telescopic boom that allows for a great outreach and lift capacity. The boom can be retracted to lift heavier loads, or extended to reach and lift higher.
  6. Cost: An Avant loader will cost more than a compact tractor. However, the Avant is more versatile which means they are better value for money.

How does Avant compare to a standard yard loader?

  1. Attachments: Avant loaders have a variety of attachments that are easy to attach and remove. There are over 150 different attachments to choose from.
  2. Lifting height: Avant loaders have a telescopic boom that provides increased lifting height and reach compared to a yard loader.
  3. Ground damage: Avant loaders have a unique 4x4 drive system which causes minimal ground damage compared to a traditional loader, while still offering better traction and stability.
  4. Stability: Avant loaders have a rigid pivot point which means there is less likelihood of rollover. This is why you will commonly see beekeepers and arborists using Avant loaders as they are very stable on slopes.
  5. Versatility: Avant loaders will complete the basic functions of a "yard loader", but also have many alternative uses as a result of the attachment range, quick connect hydraulic system, and telescopic boom.

Are Avant loaders stable?

Yes, Avant loaders are stable because:

  1. Low centre of gravity: The operator sits in the front chassis, which lowers the centre of gravity and makes the loader stable.
  2. Rigid articulation joint: The joint doesn't swing sideways, which increases stability.
  3. 4x4 system: The advanced 4x4 system provides traction.
  4. Articulation doesn't oscillate: When articulating on a slope, the front and rear portions remain at the same angle.

How long has Avant been in NZ?

Avant loaders have been in New Zealand since 2004, when Avant Equipment NZ (formerly Glenbrook Machinery) became the importer and distributor for the brand.

Avant Tecno is a market leader in articulated mini loaders, and has been manufacturing loaders since 1991. Their loaders are used in many industries in New Zealand, including beekeeping, landscaping, and arboriculture.

Avant Equipment NZ has warehouses in Auckland and Christchurch, and offers a nationwide rental fleet, spare parts, and service agents.

How do I choose the right Avant model?

This depends on the application. In demanding commercial applications, we recommend models 635, 745, 750 and 850. These all have high flow hydraulics and will run virtually all attachments. For hobby farms, the smaller 200, 400 and 500 series are a good choice.
